How to Migrate Logical Data to GBM

Version 4.16

Customers who used MicroStrategy before version 4.16, and now want to migrate to using Generic BI models (GBM), can copy the logical data of an existing MicroStrategy to GBM by running a script.

After creating a MicroStrategy instance using GBM and finishing a metadata extraction job, run the following python command from a shell:

/opt/alation/django/rosemeta/one_off_scripts/copy_report_source_logical_data_to_gbm.py -s <old mstr id> -t <new mstr id> -p True

to see which data will be copied over to GBM.

To perform copy operation, run the following python command.

/opt/alation/django/rosemeta/one_off_scripts/copy_report_source_logical_data_to_gbm.py -s <old mstr id> -t <new mstr id>
