Configure Connection to ELT Source

Alation Cloud Service Applies to Alation Cloud Service instances of Alation

After you install the Fivetran OCF connector, you must configure the connection to the Fivetran ELT source.

The various steps involved in configuring the Fivetran ELT source connection settings are:

Configure Authentication

Fivetran OCF Connector uses API Key and API Secret.

Prerequisite

Before you configure the authentication in Alation, ensure that you:

  • Collect the necessary connection information.

  • Create a service account with account administrator role.

  • Generate an API key and secret in Fivetran and save it for use.

  1. On the Settings page of Fivetran ELT source, go to the General Settings tab.

  2. Specify the API key and secret for authentication:

    Description

    API Key

    Specify the API key.

    API Secret

    Specify the API secret.

Test the Connection

The connection test checks connectivity to Fivetran.

To validate the network connectivity, go to General Settings > Test Connection of the Settings page of your Fivetran ELT source and click Test.

A dialog box appears confirming the status of the connection test.

Configure Logging

To set the logging level for your Fivetran OCF ELT source logs, perform these steps:

  1. On the Settings page of your Fivetran OCF ELT source, go to General Settings > Connector logs.

  2. Select a logging level for the connector logs and click Save.

    The available log levels are based on the Log4j framework.

Delete the ELT Source

To delete the ELT Source, refer Delete a ELT Source.
