Configure Compose¶
Alation Cloud Service Applies to Alation Cloud Service instances of Alation
Customer Managed Applies to customer-managed instances of Alation
Core Connector Core connectors are included with all Alation platform tiers (subject to each tier’s connector limits) and are fully supported by Alation.
You configure the data source settings related to the use of Compose, including the default Compose connection, on the Compose tab of the Settings page.
For an overview of all settings, refer to Configure Compose for OCF Data Sources.
For steps on configuring Compose authentication for Redshift, refer to:
SSO via IAM Identity Center using SAML federation: Configure Redshift Compose SSO with IAM Identity Center Using SAML Federation
SSO via IAM Identity Center with Trusted Identity Providers: Configure Redshift Compose SSO with IAM Identity Center and Trusted Identity Providers
Authentication with an STS token for an AWS IAM role through the SSO login flow: Configure Redshift Compose SSO with an STS Token for an AWS IAM Role
As the Data Source Admin, you’ll need to inform Compose users of any additional parameters required by your Redshift configuration that they need to include in their Compose connection strings.
